About Us 

Marni & Rose began in March 2012 when my youngest daughter, Marni was just 6 months young. She was an absolute gift but I really began to suffer from feeling bound by the motherhood mill. I pulled out my sewing machine that hadn’t been used for a number of years and started to play around and my passion for sewing came flooding back!

Things had changed dramatically since I moved with my husband and our dog to North Devon 2 years prior to Marni’s arrival and with a sense of needing to be with her, yet doing something creative and with the wish that I could help with the bills etc, Marni & Rose was born!

Fast forward 6 years, I’ve still managed to cling on to my husband, we have a second dog, a second child (I really need to make something to name after her, poor kid) and with over 3000 bears made, I think it’s safe to say that these bears are a real labour of love and one that I wouldn’t want any other way!

I’d always worked in retail and prior to Marni & Rose, as a manager for some big high street stores, Topshop and M&S as two examples and although it was an incredible career, I’d always felt like there was more out there in terms of personal satisfaction and that, in part, was what fuelled the move to Devon.

Some people in my working world in the past had said to me, “You’re too soft” and, “You’re not here to be everyone’s friend.” It was remarks like this that not only spoke volumes about my true personality but they are also the exact qualities that I have built Marni & Rose on.

We pride ourselves in honest, friendly, helpful and humorous communication with all our customers and in turn, through getting a feel for the person that we are creating for, we hopefully capture those precious first memories of your babies or the personality of your loved one. We give those treasured clothes life back by creating a keepsake bear that can be on display and perhaps an heirloom for the future.
